Tamper-resistant
Tamper-resistant packaging consists of a clear shrink film that is applied to the lid or cap of a container. It provides the consumer with assurance that a product is fresh and has not been opened, altered, or damaged after leaving the manufacturer.
Tamper-resistant packaging is used on a wide variety of consumer products, including:
- Food and beverages
- Pharmaceuticals
- Cosmetics and other personal care products
- Sporting goods
- Toys
The benefits of tamper-resistant packaging include:
- Security. An intact tamper-evident band assures the consumer that the product is safe to use or consume.
- Attractive colors. Tamper-resistant packaging can be printed in bright colors that can make the product more appealing to the consumer and set it apart from a competitor's product
- Flexibility. For ease of removal, tamper-resistant packaging can be ordered with a single or double vertical perforation , a horizontal perforation, or a tear tape
- Increased consumer confidence. The use of tamper-resistant packaging is a highly effective way of showing that a product manufacturer cares about the health and welfare of the consumer
Sizing:
To size a tamper-evident neck band:
- For the lay flat dimensions, multiply the diameter of the containers cap by 1.6 mm.
- Measure the height of the label to allow the bottom of the band to rest on the neck of the container.
- For a cap overlap, allow 4-6mm above the cap. This measurement may vary depending on the contour of the bottle and the shrinking method.
- For a bottom overlap, allow 4-6mm. The container will likely need a "puck" system to elevate the bottle off the conveyor.
